1/4" Limestone Chip (HPB)

1/4" Limestone Chip, commonly known as High Performance Bedding (HPB), is a small, angular crushed stone that has been washed to remove all fines and dust. Unlike traditional sand or screening bases, HPB is self-compacting, meaning it achieves approximately 95% compaction just by being poured and leveled, without the need for heavy vibrating plates. Because it consists of uniform 1/4" chips, it provides superior drainage and remains stable even when saturated, making it an increasingly popular "worry-free" alternative to traditional base materials.
