Rip Rap

Rip Rap is a collection of large, angular limestone rocks—typically ranging from 6" to 12" or even larger—designed specifically to provide a heavy, permanent barrier against the forces of moving water and soil erosion. Because the stones are jagged rather than rounded, they "lock" together when placed, creating a rugged surface that breaks up the energy of waves and fast-moving currents. Unlike smaller gravel, Rip Rap is heavy enough to stay in place during heavy storms or flooding, making it the ultimate solution for stabilizing ground that would otherwise wash away.
