Firewood
Fresh Firewood, commonly referred to as Green Wood, is freshly cut timber that has not yet undergone the seasoning (drying) process. Because it hasn't been dried for the standard 6 to 12 months, it retains a high moisture content—often 45% or more. In the landscape and fuel industry, fresh firewood is valued as an economical "buy ahead" option. Purchasing wood in its green state allows property owners to season the wood themselves in a well-ventilated stack, ensuring they have a perfectly dried, high-energy fuel source ready for the following burning season while saving on the premium costs associated with kiln-dried or pre-seasoned logs.
