HL8

HL8 is a coarse, heavy-duty aggregate—typically a blend of crushed limestone ranging from 3/4" to 1"—that is specifically engineered for high-strength structural applications. Unlike "clear" stone, HL8 is often used as a key component in hot-mix asphalt (specifically the "base" or "binder" course) because its larger, angular stones provide the necessary internal friction to support heavy vehicle loads without rutting or shifting. When used as a standalone gravel product, it offers a high degree of stability and excellent drainage, making it a "step up" in durability from standard 3/4" varieties.
